Vilmart & Co

Vilmart & Cie is one of those special houses that prioritize tradition and quality over commerce. They have a unique approach to the natural product without using any chemicals in the fields and are therefore allowed to carry the Ampelos label.
As Laurent Champs (owner and winemaker of Vilmart & Cie) himself says:
Ampelos is organic for all the nutrients we need for the vineyards.
Ampelos: is "raisonnée integrated and controlled": which means sustainable operation.
We use no chemical fertilizers, no herbicides, and no insecticides. We only use organic fertilizers and use natural grass in the middle of the rows against certain insects and diseases (these are biological methods). We have been working biodynamically for 25 years, but now we are "sustainable," and that is even more suitable for our vineyards and our climate.
Additionally, all wines are still aged in wood (10 months). A "small house" with 12 hectares and only 100,000 bottles per year, yet named and praised by all connoisseurs for the quality and taste. While with the large houses we sometimes have to experience that acidity on the first sip and a bitter aftertaste belong to champagne; here we experience the calmness and softness that champagne can also have. A beautiful line of diverse flavors, allowing us to pair a suitable Vilmart champagne with many different dishes.
